Ever since we attained our independence from the great Somalia on 18th May,1991,many authorities have so far governed Somaliland but no one added a single room composed of bricks to the nation and

instead of that, they have accustomed to sell the pre-existed national properties and public infrastructures apart from the reign of Kulmiye Government.

Getting deep down to the matter, what happened when the current Kulmiye Government under the presidency of H.E Mr.Silanyo Succeeded in the April, 2010 elections, with a landslide victory? Has he followed along the same way of his old friends or has he done something for the nation elected him? Some people may look at this case from

the distrustful and negative side, some may stand on a neutral ground, while others may see it in the positive side and be witnesses of the progress and goodness of Kulmiye Government, led by Mr.Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud(Silanyo).

Sincerely, something is wrong with us while selecting our presidential leaders from the set of our people, since we give priority to a clan-based evaluation, instead of choosing them by the criteria of know-how, loyalty, capability, religion as well as good leadership. In fact, a tremendous number of our leaders would better like to look after their own personal benefits other than that of the general public. This is why the opposing parties are always criticizing the government at office, and this is contrary to the general interests of the nation.

In reality, the government of Mr.Silanyo has made a remarkable progress which cannot be denied by any opened-minded and experienced person in respect to the former administrations. The current government has reconstructed the country economically, socially, politically and militarily within a period of five years, and eagerly ready to double their achievements in the future. The progressive steps that they have taken include the passing and distributing of the ranks to the different Somaliland forces, the reconstructions of the Government and Public Premises such as Local Administration Councils, Schools, Roads, upgrading of Radio Hargeisa and the National Television as well as other public infrastructures like the Erigavo Highway. The only noted weakness is that they have not given priority and importance to the airport of Burao which was largely in use in 1948 and now being disconnected from the rest of the world. I think they have not failed to remember the case, but in preparation to do it in a better change.

All in all, let us work with the Government of Kulmiye and encourage them to go ahead from the where they are now, or else we might get a bad leader taking the presidency position, with bad traits like corruption, nepotism, injustice, and irresponsibility that can easily create conflicts among the clans. This will retard our growth and developement and take us back to our footmarks of yesterday. Integrity, peace, love and unity are the keys to our nation’s success and development.
